What is NTAssure

NTAssure© is a Licensed trademark of Nastown. The acronym stands for Network Attached Storage Burn in Testing. This term is used to describe the process of testing new Network Attached Storage (NAS) hardware and firmware for faults before putting it to use in a live environment. This is done by running ‘Stress testing’ software for a stipulated period of time often 24 to 48 hours, but longer if needed.

This term is used to describe the process of testing new Network Attached Storage (NAS) hardware and firmware for faults before putting it to use in a live environment. This is done by running ‘Stress testing’ software for a stipulated period of time, often 24 to 48 hours, but longer if needed.

We follow these 7 steps to provide you with the safest and quality tested NAS product, which fits perfectly to your requirement

Step 1: Hard Drive Test

All the hard disks and solid drives are tested and selected prior their integration. Any dead on arrival drives are eliminated.

Step 2: Preparation of your server

Your personal NAS is inspected for DOA, initial boot up and checked for firmware validity. Further, add-on upgrades are carried out and compatibility is tested.

Step 3: Raid Configuration

The appropriate RAID level is set and the system awaits completion of RAID synchronization. Once completed the NAS server undergoes numerous re-boots and a deletion of original RAID and a final re-build of RAID level again.

Step 4: Up-gradation of Firmware

Recommended firmware upgrade is applied suiting to your requirements and the NAS is prepared for Burn in.

Step 5: Burn-In Testing

The unit goes through a series of tests including severe fluctuations allowing adaptability in differing environments. The stress testing softwares writes large volumes of data to hard drives over and over to make sure drive platters are functional.

Step 6 : QA Final Check

Once testing is completed the system is repackaged and inspected to reassure all contents are in the retail box. It is then packed in the outer box and labelled for shipment.

Step 7: Order Shipment

Your NAS is at your doorsteps, NTAssure’d and ready to use out of the box.
